Christopher Garratt studied Fine Art at Bath Academy of Art, Corsham. Moving to London, he worked in various media, ranging from film to painting and printmaking.
For many years, Chris taught at Exeter College of Art & Design and Falmouth School of Art, serving on several arts advisory bodies including the Arts Council of Great Britain and Television South West, where he wrote and presented several series of arts programmes.
As the artist and co-writer of The Guardian BIFF cartoon strip for 20+ years, Chris also illustrated many titles in the popular “Introducing”series for Icon Books.
Chris works as a painter and printmaker, using the simplest of materials and methods to reconnect with the primacy of imag[in]ing.
