I’ve always enjoyed photography. My first real camera was a Vivitar - I must have been about thirteen and about to embark on a school skiing trip. I’d always taken a disposable camera on holidays (and around the island) before then - and I was ecstatic to be heading off on my adventures so well equipped. Unfortunately, I managed to lose the camera on the way home…
Luckily my early misfortunes didn’t deter me and I was eventually able to fund a replacement; move into the digital world and, keen as ever, bought my first SLR about a decade after the ski trip incident. There was certainly no shortage of photographic inspiration growing up on Scilly and my surroundings fuelled my passion.
Still on Scilly today with my partner Sam, I am currently a stay at home mum to our children, two year old Jude and baby Etta (who arrived April 2020 during lockdown!). I continue to be inspired by our beautiful islands and for the first time this year decided to challenge myself to produce a calendar of island images and the Tresco calendar was born!
Please feel free to get in touch if you would like to know more about about my little endeavour, or indeed my island home!
