Hello, I am Morag, I live over on St Martin’s. It has been 10 years since I found myself on Scilly; I came for a 3 week seasonal job and then never left. Being creative has always been in my nature, starting with my elaborate cardboard model making, to now having the chance to dance with colours and paint on paper. There is a space and a freedom here on Scilly, that I am sure keeps visitors coming back and back, and it is this space and freedom I try to capture in my paintings. Looking so often to the sky here as inspiration and the ever changing movement of the ocean.
I feel so lucky to live in such a creative environment, both with the people who live here and the nature that surrounds me. Everyday I find myself outside looking, exploring. I think painting helps you to view things with a fresh eye each day, which when living on such a small island is definitely a good thing.
